In TOS, Kirk was happy to marry two of his crewmen. In TNG, when Keiko and O'Brien were getting married, Data worried about finding a gift. So it's not unheard of for crewmen to marry.

Three years into the voyage, after the Narada, two crewmembers, Hikaru Sulu and Pavel Chekov, have decided to take the plunge.

The whole ship is a buzz.

In order to officiate well, Kirk did some researching and found something very, very strange. In the wake of the whole world-saving gig, the crew has become... famous. They're being written about. And not always in flattering ways. In fact, they seem to have developed a fandom.

Of course, no one can contain their curiosity.

So people are sending around snippets of fanfic- from awful to awesome, from G to triple-X.

So- who is shocked by who they're shipped with? Who was a secret member of fandom when they were younger? And who is still writing?

And in the end, do Sulu and Chekov pull it off, or do they decide there's a better ship for them?

Dear diary,

Mr. Sulu has been acting wery strange lately. He keeps sitting closer and closer to me on the bridge. Yesterday he spent nearly 20 min with his hand just resting on my side of the console, "helping" me make adjustments or just tapping my hands with his fingers. It is wery distracting.

Does he not think I am able to do my job ? Maybe he prefers navigation and is trying to steal it from me.

Perhaps I should ask the other crew members for advice. I will keep you updated.

Most of you know that, and followed the lulz that followed. Which, of course, took place, after 9 days on the kink meme, in this community.

We, my dearests, are coming up on a year in this comm.


Honestly- I get a little misty realizing this. The great people I've met here, the great times we've had, the shitty times, and the times we just got together and played. ST_D is my fandom home, and I love it.


So, I want to do something for our anniversary.

I am considering a host of things, from a fic-a-thon to an anniversary game, to um... well, that's all I've thought of. So, if you were me, what would you do for ST_D's first birthday? I'm open to all ideas.

Those of you who are familiar with the TOS episodes might remember the fantastic episode in which the Enterprise comes across a planet with 1920s gangster culture.

So, in gentle reboot fashion, Our Heroes are toddling along, being Heroes and Righting Wrongs and whatnot when they encounter a planet identical to Earth was. In 1969.

Why 1969? Well, my friends. 69 makes me giggle.

Also, 1969 had a lot of important events.

Look at all that. So much that we take for granted. Imagine (all the people? Living side by side?) what a year like that would look like 300 years after, rather than 40. What amuses people, what horrifies them? And what just plain confuses them?

This morning, Number One Pike woke to the following message on her PADD:

I know, I know, I know, I'm supposed to wake you so you don't wake up cold and alone. You can pout at me all you want when you wake up. But it was early and you look so peaceful and after how upset you were last night I couldn't bring myself to. Just because I have to be up early to make sure my classes are taken care of doesn't mean you should be too. I'll make it up to you later. Promise.

Out ladies are transporting a delegation of some people to some kind of event. These passengers come from a deeply misogynistic world - they barely acknowledge women, forget respect. There have been a number of pinched asses, suggestive hand motions and even some aspersions cast on the manliness of the men. (Jon Rand would like you to know that his hair is a mirror of his genitals - large and basket-shaped. IDK.)

And just to make your lives hard more interesting, you can't play any of your regulars.

The idea is not to play BRAND NEW characters, but to step away from the ones you love - try some others on, see how they fit. Lurkerrrrs, this is a great game for you, you can be ANYONE.

WHAT A TWIST!!

ONCE UPON A TIME:

Our EA kids were in space. Then they were in the past. Except some of them went to the future. And Pavel didn't go anywhere. He stayed behind and did maths. Or math, depends on who you ask.

It has been a tense-ass week since last we saw our heroes. There's a technobabble reason why, but the kids JUST rematerialized on the ship. So. What's going on in this crazy place?

The ship will be docking back home in two days. And they'll be back just in time for graduation.
