Since no one else has done it...
Last time, on SFAAU:
1. Captain Pike's evil clone
2. The cat, Quin, and Suzy
3. Tony Giotto, fanboy
4. Nurse Ogawa, terror of the GP
5. Several relationship revelations
6. A missing spider
7. A very awkward proposal
Now, it's evening, the day Pike was rescued. What are they going to do with the clone?

Yes, I understand.
So essentially it's possible they might start dating again in the foreseeable future?

Don't you ma'am me, young man. You think of this like the father you are- would you want someone jerking your little girl around the way you're doing to my Jimmy?

He can be pretty blunt himself at times so I don't think it'll be too shocking. I know. It'd be great if those two actually kept in touch properly.
And McKenna confirms they're seeing each other socially. Also she reports they're both still in love with the other.

Well, yes. But it's also possible Jim will spook and disappear for three months to resurface as the head of the Klingon High Council. It's Jim.

I hope so.
Are we counting DaddyIssues McKenna as a reliable source of knowing what love is?

I know what I've done to Jim. I regret it and I've told him that much and I'm trying to make it up to him. I'm trying to put a stop to the jerking around.

Unfortunately also true. Thank you anyway.

No, but it's a sign at least on of them is attracted still. If not both.

And how do you intend to stop the jerking around?

Well, I think I'm getting somewhere with McCoy.

I'm going to be there for him and I'm not going to leave again.

It's something at least. McCoy's coming around then to some degree.
McKenna said the three of them went out for drinks last night. They stayed out together after she left.

Never going to leave him? So what are you going to do when you get assigned to different ships and can't be with him?

I suppose so.
Well. If I know my son, that means they fucked.

There's a difference between being apart and abandoning. I can avoid the latter if not the former.

It is likely knowing him. I asked Jim about whether talking to McCoy again was a good thing or not. He pretty much went 'well...it's a thing' with as little commitment as he could muster.

And do you think Jim understands the distinction? He's a freaking genius, but I didn't do him any favors by being absent when he was little.

McCoy thinks that Jim will understand the difference between "apart and abandoning" when they're on other ships. You buy it?

I know plenty well about all that and what it's done to him. I'm not saying it's simple but there's three years before we'll get assignments. If it's possible to make it alright I'll find a way and I'm of the opinion it is.

I can buy that McCoy believes it. Whether Jim actually can or will is another matter entirely.
