(Why is it joint? Becuase Archer and Grat are having an epic bromance and they want to have a dance. I don't know. Just go with it.)

About four years now. I got the portal working six years ago but Sam wouldn't let me travel without a skilled team to back me up so I went recruiting. Took me a while, but I wanted the best and you have to be patient. (I don't think I can. I've kept him oblivious for thirty years and now in one fell swoop I've lost them both.)
You're starting to sound like Al. Stop it. (He's mad at me now too. How have I managed to alienate everyone I love with this mission?)

Yes, it was. And I've known Valeris since she was born. Hell, I've known her since before she was born. She grew up with my little brother and they practically lived at my house.

I thought as much. Killing is hard, and it should be hard, and you had to do it to someone you know and care for. It's going to take some time to work out. That's alright. Maybe you'll need a bit of a break before you're ready to charge off again. There's nothing wrong with that.

I'm just making sure you'll enjoy your one moment of triumph.
She's ended up here, you can't change what she's been through. What ifs are a dangerous game and hurt to consider too much. She grew up Tony. She had to someday, you just haven't seen all the in between bits yet so it's hard.
Breathe. You and Caroline are going to grow old together and have children, have a family. Focus on the good, you can worry about the rest when it comes.
