It's Fall.
Leaves are changing colors, pumpkins are sprouting up min roadside stands, and somewhere, this commercial is playing.
Yes. Back to school.
September 1. Our Heroes are trudging back to Old EA, books in hand.
What did they do over their summer vacations? Well!
Christine and Spock have been married for two months, and have ALMOST decided what color curtains to get.
Pavel had a hot steamy Italian affair with a boy named Anthony and his car. And then he and Gaila played physics.
Caroline ran around the Mediterranean with Tony.
Hikaru gallivanted around Asia with his family and a man with the last name of "Kim" who will some day have a great-nephew named Harry.
Jim and Bones got jobs as ice cream guys in their own hover truck. They made no money, and got a few nasty infections from dubious use of the icecream scoop.
Huey, Dewey and Louie were lifeguards and might have gone all the way.
AND! Chris Pike got an engagement ring that he's totally going to give to Number One. Soon. Maybe tomorrow. Leave him alone. Tomorrow, for sure.
Of course, there have been some changes:
- Who is this Mr. Mudd, the mysterious new combat teacher, and since when has Archer been married?
- Pavel and Hikaru have been broken up for MONTHS and not seen each other.
- Ricky broke his leg two days ago and is utterly annoyed at trying to get around.
Finally, McGivers' trial is coming up, and the kids who were there will have to testify.
And, of course, the contest that got us here, the project to create an invention to better mankind's path through the stars, will be starting up soon. And here are some teams:
TEAM 4:
C. Chapel
L. McCoy
J. Rand
N. Uhura
TEAM 6:
S. Spock
R. Singh
J. Tormolen
TEAM 7:
P. Chekov
C. McKenna
H. Sulu
TEAM 10:
R. Ensyne
J. Kyle
K. Riley
TEAM 15:
J. Kirk
M. Scott
Gaila
So, without further blah blah blah, get to it!

Have you considered that we could maybe enter our holiday project if they do that crappy competition again this year?

You, me, glasses of wine and paint stripper tonight? And possibly a movie?
The vegetarian lasagna didn't work very well last night. I had to replicate bits and fix it together. It was like lego, not cooking. I need to get better at this.

Here goes nothing. I hope you kept your part of the deal, Tom. I swear to God, if you chickened out on meeting Milan or Tuscany or whatever his name is on that boat and running away together I swear I will
well, I'm never going to see you again, but I'll kick your ass in my head.

Hello! How was Korea? And Japan? :D

Nice. Warm. Full of uncooked fish.
How was Italy?

Haha! Nice, too hot, full of pasta and icecream. I think I would have put on 20 pounds if Chopper hadn't been giving me combat training in between times. And I learned a lot about cars, and stuff! :D
Carrie is totally going to kick your ass all the way to France, by the way. I wish I was kidding.

Oh. Oh, I'm going to fight her, aren't I? Shoot, I forgot.
Well, I've been bumming it. I guess fighting hitchhikers and sleeping in the outdoors might have constituted some kind of training. It was fun, though. Really enjoyable. Getting back to nature. Not in a naked way. I'm rambling, now, so I'm going to stop.
You're taking Basic Combat this year?

Hikaru I thought you were with your family? Why were you fighting hitchhikers?

It's kind of hard to explain.
You know how Chrissie's dad took me somewhere? Well, I ended up in this yellow blow-up boat in some ocean with this guy - Thomas Kim - who looked worse for wear, a bottle of bourbon in his pocket. When we got back to dry land we realized we were in Korea. Which was very funny at the time, 'cause that's totally where I wanted to be, and I was drunk.
Luckily, Tom knew a bit about Korea, so he showed me around. But we had to cross Inch'on on our own, so there was a little scuffle with a few hitchhikers and locals since together we could say, like, "where's the bathroom?" and swear and that was it. We had to switch between and occasionally we got it wrong.
We got to the transport station eventually, but Tom came along. I stayed with the family for a week and a bit before we decided to bum around Asia for a bit. Went to China. Shenyang's amazing.
Hence the tan and the cut hair. The fridge kept getting in my face. That kind of stuff happens when you start a holiday with JPT.

That sounds very exciting! Where is Tom now? Does he live in America? :D
Yes, so anyway... um
No, you know what, Hikaru, you really need a Navigator. I know you keep getting B's in Interstellar Cartography but if you studied harder you could even use that to find your way on Earth. Don't get lost in China again please. Promise me, as your friend?
If it helps I will admit that your hair does look good shorter.

Sounds good.
Well, the lasagna sounds disgusting. But the hanging out is awesome. How was playing house?
And has Kiki talked to you yet?

Tom... should be in the middle of the Pacific right now if our plan worked right. But he's American, so he might get here some time. He goes to VA, you know, down in Indiana?
Pavel, I had a Navigator. Tom. He was fucking shit, but he wants to do mapping at the Academy. Like, learn the way to work sensors and communications but not actually stick with straight navigation or become a translator. He said it was like having the cake and eating it too. Anyway, getting lost is kind of fun. As long as you have bug spray. I really won't miss the bugs.
Thanks. You look good tanned. And you never said whether you're off to Basic Training next period?

Any movie you're itching to see?
Playing house is always fun. I kind of want Spock to drop his coat on the floor or put his feet on the chairs just so I can shout "PICK THAT UP" and "GET THOSE FEET OFF THE COUCH" but that's not likely. We need to make it more of a home, though. At the moment everything's too neat. I'm thinking of inviting Deanna over with her playmates.
No but what the hell happened to his hair? Spock almost wept.

Fine, then you need a better Navigator. Next time take me.
Yes, I have Basic Training next period. I am a little anxious, I have only practiced with Chopper and Carrie and Nino so far, I do not know whether it will be different to fight with strangers.

I kinda fell out of pop culture in the last few months. Anything good come out?
You could yell if he leaves the seat up?
I don't know. He's in all of my classes this year, since I went pilot-command, but he won't even make eye contact with me. Whatever.

Eh, it's lame. Vulcan Lit, Advanced Combat (who is this Mudd guy?), Xenolinguistics, Non-linear Algebra, History of the Federation, Advanced Ethics. Free fifth.
You?

It wouldn't have been half as fun with a map, Pavel. You can't get stuck on the back of a donkey and cart full of straw with a map. You can only do that with saké and two guys who know fucking nothing.
Hey, don't worry about it. Gates looks angry, but she's as sweet as anything really. Ask her about her husband. She loves talking about her kids. At least you don't have the weird new guy.

Hikaru? Yes, he was telling me about his summer. He got lost in China with some idiot called Tom and it sounds like they went a little bit crazy like hobos or something.
God he is looking FUCKING HOT though. Not hiding under the long hair any more. Do you think it makes him looks older? And he doesn't look wound so tight, does he, he sort of... it is like he swaggers, but he is not really swaggering, he just... like he moves very easily... AAAAGH FUCK
I have not told him about Nino yet. What do you think the odds are that he was having sex with this Tom? I will bet you 10 credits but you will not take that bet, am I right?
