So, Magic!! is dying down, and I'm really excited about some of the stuff planned for this iteration of HSAU.
We're opening on a Wednesday, the day before graduation, and McKenna, Chekov, Sulu, Mitchell, DeSalle, Tormolen, Singh, Jim Kirk, Chris Pike and Tony Giotto were heading home after their Academy field trip. (And I know Tony said it was a Tuesday, but "down" days tend to get kinda meh, so I AM CHANGING THINGS!)
All was going well; for once there was no drama on an EA outing, even though Kirk came along. But there was something strange about that bus driver, wasn't there?
When Our Heroes come back to consciousness, McKenna, Sulu and Singh will be in cells somewhere, with transporter tags on their ankles. Chekov, Giotto and Tormolen will be in difference cells, each with a button. Our nutsoplotter will explain that. They still have their PADDs, but they will discover that their communication has been awesomely restricted.
The others: Mitchell, Kirk, DeSalle and Pike are in their own holding area, but the have neither tags nor buttons.
No one knows where they are or how they got there, but I can promise you that there is an evil plan afoot.
So, I now invite you to try and figure out WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?

All right, roll call. Who's here and who's not accounted for?
Everyone all right? Any injuries?

I'm here. No injuries, just... fuck, my head hurts. I'm in a small room, a cell, from the looks of things.
What happened?

Here with Vinny, Pike, and Chris. Another cell. Anybody have any idea what's going on?

Please respond if you get this message. I seem to be held in a concrete holding cell, about 3m3. There are no features to the cell that I can see except a red button inset in a steel panel on the wall.
I have tried shouting for help but I cannot hear anyone and no-one comes.
I am physically okay.

Oh, thank god. I am alone in my cell, as are you, Joe? What about everyone else? Does anyone remember what happened?

Here as Mitchell said, small room, no features, we seem unharmed. Is anyone else in rooms together?

I really don't like the looks of this. Have you attempted to contact anyone beyond our group yet?

Oh, thank fuck Pav.
Yeah, I'm fine. I'm good. I'm okay. The holding cell is identical, but I've got a fucking bracelet or something around my leg. Electronically tagged or something. I can't get it off.

So far I've just been trying to determine if everyone's all right.

I like that you give your thanks to "fuck". Now I know that it is really you. :D
Are you sure you are okay and not injured? I have a little headache but not enough to notice until Joe mentioned his. Mostly I just need to pee.
I have done my best to investigate the button - I tried to pry it off to see the wiring beneath - but the steel panel is integrated into the button, and the wiring behind it is embedded in the concrete, so I cannot see the connections without exerting serious force. For one, I am not sure I could do that, and for another, there would be great risk of triggering the button itself. I have no idea what it does.
It is very frustrating.

Date: 2009-10-01 09:16 pm (UTC)Wakey wakey, boys and girl! Are you all sitting comfortably? Oh, no, I guess not. Considering the rooms I have you in barely gives you room to move. I think those without the tags have a tiny bit more room, actually. You're very lucky. You should consider yourselves lucky. After all, you have a good chance of living.
No weapons, Mr. Giotto. I got my friends to clear you of everything but your PADDs. I want you to be able to tell each other every thought that runs through your heads. It will be interesting to see how each of you reacts under such stress. I wonder if
-no, no, that's for later.
I really wanted to tell you all of this in person, but that would be a little difficult, wouldn't it? So I'll just tell everyone everything. No deception, right Raj? I'm doing good, aren't I? Raising an army? Winning? I would have followed you, you know. To the ends of the universe. But no. I'm not good enough. Not like the puppy.
Now, the fun bit. I've split you up into two teams. Chekov? Giotto? Raj? You've won the prize. Congratulations! You have control out of who in the other team, McKenna, Tormolen and Sulu, lives and who dies. But it's not that easy.
Oh no.
One of them will be free. One of them will be sent to my ship - a ship full of vampires - to be a blood bank for the rest of their lives. The other will die. And it won't be painless.
I'd never be so cruel as to ask you to sacrifice yourselves, Sulu, McKenna and puppy. No. That's completely up to the others. Of course, you could send each other pleading messages for your lives. But that's your choice. Kick back! Relax. Enjoy your last moments breathing.
The most important part of this is the order. The first person to be chosen will be set free. The second? Vampire bitch. The last will be killed. But how can you choose? Well, there are buttons in your rooms, Chekov, Giotto and Raj. Buttons which are in- no! No, Raj, sweetheart, calm down. You haven't heard the best bit yet.
The buttons in your rooms are connected to one person only. Chekov, you have the chance to save Tormolen. Raj? Your button can choose McKenna. And Mr. Giotto, the school's star fencing student's life is in your hands.
So. I suggest you chose quickly. We have, oh, three hours? Until the sun's far enough down to make our escape easy. And if no one's picked by then, I'm killing you all. Remember! The order is of the essence.
My little friends who are observing, you will see a computer screen above your head which will tell you the read out of the results. So, you'll be able to see who will die! Isn't that clever? A lot of vampires with high degrees got kicked out of the 'Fleet after they were turned. They tend to hold... grudges.
Aren't I doing good Raj? Evil enough for you yet? I'll talk to you all in a minute. I have some things to pack. Have fun!

You crazy psychobitch you are going to die and I am going to take great pleasure in being the one to do it.
You've locked up the smartest students in the entire school, and the two officers with the best records for getting their crew out of jams alive and intact. Do you really think you're going to succeed? We are going to escape and I am going to kill you.

URGENT
The field trip has been captured and being held by Marla McGivers and cohorts, some local vampires seem to be involved, in an unknown location. Everyone is currently unharmed but it may not stay that way for long. You need to fins us and intervene immediately. We were about halfway to academy before we were knocked out. We're being held in small rooms, stone, unheated.

I heard it. I love you. Believe me, there is no argument ever that could make me press my button now. And if you are sent to a ship of upyr I will break you out of it myself, by hand, alone if I must.
I have contacted Mr Giotto already. We will find a way out of this.

And risk the other two? I'm sorry, kid, I can't do that. I wish it were that simple, but I have no doubts she's found a way around that. Like the transporter takes you too far away or she's lied about the order... fuck, this is complicated. Gimme time to think.

Date: 2009-10-01 09:29 pm (UTC)Oh, HUSH, puppy. You'll wear your poor little fingers out.
My intellect might not match up to yours or Chekov's, but I have friends here. Vampire friends. Some of which were tutors at the Academy until they were kicked out by the unwelcoming Starfleet.
They've made it perfectly possible for me to monitor all PADD communications, Chekov. And yes, I do have the money and resources. It's amazing what you can get with a pretty face and a supply of fresh blood.
So? Who's getting saved? I have my credits on someone...

Look, I'm not stupid. You've seen Joey fight, he wouldn't be able to deal with vampires. He needs to go first.

I wonder how long it'll take to rip your arms off? I bet it'll take a while, and I bet it will hurt. And to watch you bleed... I'm going to enjoy watching you bleed.
