In the world you are entering, there is a Federation. There is an Enterprise. There is even a Captain Kirk.
But in this world, they are not as you know them.
George Lowther, 27, is the captain of the pirate ship known throughout the galaxy as the Enterprise. Of course, he's not the real George Lowther, and neither was the man before him, a fellow called Chris Pike. They're in the process of trading the identity, so Pike can retire, having made his fortune. The new Lowther, real name James T. Kirk, has hired on a crew, and they're off on their first voyage, affiliated with the Federation of Interstellar Pirates.
So. How's the crew doing? And, of course, who's fucking?

If that's the case, let's try there first.

I don't know anything about her either. She left not long after I was born. You might not be safe visiting us but you won't be any safer anywhere else, by that logic. Visiting won't land you in prison.
Fine.

But I don't want to be the bigger person because then he'll just think I'm acting like I'm better than he is. Ooh, that sounds like a fun game that we should definitely try out. And I don't provoke him he provokes me.
It's not running away if everyone knows about it.

He's gotten used to it from me I'm sure he'll come to accept it from you as well. It does have some intriguing possibilities, maybe we will. He's sent me the convos, you both do. Even if you're doing it unintentionally you are doing it.
It's not like everyone will know. It is a very select group darling.

I don't want to talk about him any more he annoys me. Tell me a story instead. One with a princess and her handsome prince who saves her from some danger on his valiant steed.
It's everyone that matters.

Yes I've noticed that. Well, once upon a time there was a beautiful princess locked in terrible tall tower on a distant plant. And there was an evil witch guarding her who waited for knights and killed any who attempted to rescue the princess. It was all terrible upsetting. Until the right Knight came along...
Yes it is. But we still get to run away from everyone else.

Was he a handsome knight? And brave and strong?
I guess I have to live with that.

He was, and he had a valiant steed and as he approached the tower he raised his sword and readied himself to fight the witch. He was doing well and the princess was pleased by what she saw, also very tired of being in the tower, so she threw down a magical shield (don't as me it was just sitting in the tower) to help and with it the knight won, much to everyone's delight except for the witch. And so the knight rescued the princess from her her lonely life in the tower and they rode far far away together.
We get to fool most of the universe love, I would hope you can.

And what happened then? I bet the princess was waiting for the right knight to come along so she could give him the magic shield and wouldn't have just given it to anyone.
I know. Sometimes I just want to leave everyone behind and start over. Just you and me and our little girl, and no one else matters.

She certainly was. She was a wise enough princess to know that not just any knight was good enough. But this was a good knight and the two fell madly in love on their journey back to her kingdom. For it was a long journey and a difficult one and they had to work together to prevail.
It's a very seductive thought, I admit.

But they made it back? They got home okay, right?
But you wouldn't would you? You couldn't just up and leave him behind.

Power transformer overloaded a wee bit while we were testing it. Some of the children managed to get themselves a little dose of some gas before we got it locked down and they're not looking too well.

I'll send a team, M'benga will be leading. Everyone who's been exposed needs to be ready to be examined. And anyone with a fever goes front of the line.

They did. They made it home safe and sound and decided to stay together forever and live a normal quiet life.
No, I couldn't. I can't do that to the people I care about.

And they lived happily ever after?
Well. I guess I should take that as reassurance that you won't leave me behind either.

Team down to Engineering and stat, we have people who've been exposed to gas, likely toxic.

They lived very happily ever after.
Yes, you should. You're stuck with me for life.

And they had a pretty little daughter to love and be happy, right?
On no, whatever shall I do?

Yes, a gorgeous little daughter who they loved dearly and loved them back.
Run away with me?

Tell me about our daughter, Chris. She'll like me, won't she?
Well, since you put it that way...

She'll love you. She'll be beautiful and smart and stubborn. And we'll take care of her and teach her how to be strong and watch her grow up and worry over her. She'll be free and happy.
Besides, if you don't run away with me you won't get to see the ranch, and the fantastic view it has and there are going to be horses and a chicken coop and I promise you will love it. Also there would be no sex. Which would be a crime.

Waiting for her is really hard.
A chicken coop with real chickens in it? And baby chickens with their cute little fluffy bodies and their cute little beaks? Can we have goats too? Hm, well, I do enjoy the sex and would hate to give it up.
