Side Game: Dystopia

In the world you are entering, there is a Federation. There is an Enterprise. There is even a Captain Kirk.

But in this world, they are not as you know them.

George Lowther, 27, is the captain of the pirate ship known throughout the galaxy as the Enterprise. Of course, he's not the real George Lowther, and neither was the man before him, a fellow called Chris Pike. They're in the process of trading the identity, so Pike can retire, having made his fortune. The new Lowther, real name James T. Kirk, has hired on a crew, and they're off on their first voyage, affiliated with the Federation of Interstellar Pirates.

So. How's the crew doing? And, of course, who's fucking?

Yeah, but most westerns actually used Italians and others from around that region. So it's not entirely accurate. In truth, Mexicans are good for:

taco stands
jumping borders
siestas
fiestas
wearing colorful panchos
living in houses made of sediment
being cowboys excuse me, vaqueros

AND STEALING FROM WAL*MART.

ACTUALLY ONLY WHITE KIDS DO THAT.

NO WAY IT'S TOTES THE MEXICANS. THE WHITE KIDS ALL STEAL FROM CLASSY PLACES LIKE BELKS AND JC PENNY. AND THE DOLLAR TREE.

AND GARDENING. DON'T FORGET OUR LOCO GARDENING SKILLS.

Maybe, but the movies would have me to believe that Mexicans are trigger happy, and that's what I was basing my assumptions on, because we all know that movies and especially Westerns are honest-to-goodness depictions of reality and my be taken as absolute fact at all times.

....I am not the person to talk to about Westerns. One of my film teachers spent a good amount of time teaching us why spaghetti Westers were so fail-worthy and yet so profitable.

I love Westerns. I especially love "Trinity" and the other stuff Travis Hill was in. But I also know how to discern fact from reality.

Have you seen A Fistful of Dollars?

[identity profile] captlebubbles.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Possibly. I usually watch them with my dad, start about twenty minutes in, and never bother to follow the plot or learn the titles.

Yeah, I am faintly useless when it comes to watching stuff. It's just something me and my dad like to do together, watch old movies together. He has recently also taken a liking to black-and-white rom coms and I'm trying not to think about it too hard.

Also, I have to go eat food now. Back later, unless mom forces more of that foul-tasting stuff down my gullet and I have to go back to bed.

Bye.

[identity profile] captlebubbles.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Back now. Though this stuff is supposed to make me drowsy so I may end up nodding off. If I disappear I've fallen asleep.
