Side Game: Dystopia

In the world you are entering, there is a Federation. There is an Enterprise. There is even a Captain Kirk.

But in this world, they are not as you know them.

George Lowther, 27, is the captain of the pirate ship known throughout the galaxy as the Enterprise. Of course, he's not the real George Lowther, and neither was the man before him, a fellow called Chris Pike. They're in the process of trading the identity, so Pike can retire, having made his fortune. The new Lowther, real name James T. Kirk, has hired on a crew, and they're off on their first voyage, affiliated with the Federation of Interstellar Pirates.

So. How's the crew doing? And, of course, who's fucking?

Not besides myself. It is a bit unusual, but contracts were up, everyone got a nice fat take and George wanted to try something different. Half the old crew was getting on in years anyway, I think he wanted a crew that might last him a bit longer. This is the most wanted ship and George knows that better than anyone, letting old friends go on their own ways makes their lives a little bit safer.

YAY!

THAT MOVIE IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME. THAT WORLD WAS AMAZING, AND EVERYONE WAS AMAZING, AND EVEN THE EXTRAS AT THE BACK WERE PRETTY.

THE WHOLE ~REVEALING~ WAS FUNNY IN THE TV SHOW BUT TRAGIC IN THE MOVIE. AND MY FIXATION WITH IT AND THE EFFECT ON HIS AND SPEED'S RELATIONSHIP CAN BE SEEN FROM THE RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF FIC I WROTE ABOUT IT. HAVE YOU SEEN Speed_fic?

I was surprised when I met him. Captain Lowther is so young. What is he? Maybe a year or two older than me? Considering his reputation, I had expected someone quite a bit older.

I KNOOOOOOW~

THEY COULD HAVE KILLED OFF THE WHOLE FUCKING CAST IN THE TV SHOW AND IT WOULD STILL BE HILARIOUS THAT WAS JUST THE NATURE OF THE SHOW. I HAVE NOW.

He's a bit older than he looks, but no, he's not too old. He's done a lot in his time, it's rather impressive, he's just one of those types who hits the ground running. He's managed more already than some will in their lives.

I suppose so. How long have you served under him? The two of you must be quite close if he kept you on.

Several years, we work well together so he convinced me to hang on a bit longer while he settles with this crew. Extra bit of insurance I suppose.

I thought he liked to hit the ground running?

He's the most wanted man in the quadrant, he didn't get that way by not knowing when to watch his back. Big crew like this you have to handle properly, he wouldn't mind diving in, but he knows it's better to ease in when there are this many variables.

Well, that was sweet of you to put off retirement for him.

THE SHOW WAS MAGNIFICENT IN IT'S WTFERY, IT HAD ME IN STICHES FROM THE MOMENT I REALISED THE WEIRD VOICE-OVER IN THE FIRST EPISODE WAS SPEED.

THE EARLIER STUFF IS AMAZING. IN FACT MOST OF IT IS AMAZING, BUT I'D START AT THE BEGINNING.

Eh, it's just a few more months, not like he needs me for long. I like the idea of one last run before I settle anyway.

And what exactly does settling down involve for a former pirate?

Home and no wanted posters, haven't quite worked out the rest. I'm gonna take it easy awhile, figure out the particulars as it comes.

Comming and walking don't necessarily go hand in hand. I'm a few feet away from your door now.

Did you want to leave it there or do an audio? I'm probably going to be leaving in about 30 min.

Aha. Attempt at audio and see how far we get?
