Side Game: Dystopia

In the world you are entering, there is a Federation. There is an Enterprise. There is even a Captain Kirk.

But in this world, they are not as you know them.

George Lowther, 27, is the captain of the pirate ship known throughout the galaxy as the Enterprise. Of course, he's not the real George Lowther, and neither was the man before him, a fellow called Chris Pike. They're in the process of trading the identity, so Pike can retire, having made his fortune. The new Lowther, real name James T. Kirk, has hired on a crew, and they're off on their first voyage, affiliated with the Federation of Interstellar Pirates.

So. How's the crew doing? And, of course, who's fucking?

Nice theory. But slightly flawed since I'm their most wanted and my kill count is lowest in the past 10 years of any of their wanted. 'fleet doesn't do shit but protect it's own interests and make the rich richer.

You're the exception, not the rule. And look at my last ten catches- the three most recent were low bounties trying to make a name for themselves by rampaging through heavily populated areas. The one before that was personal, but the two before that one were similar cases. My point is, I don't give a damn about the 'fleet's methods for naming bounties. All I care about is getting the most dangerous people out of the way so the universe can be a safe place to live in.

*The personal one, I'm told, is the guy that caused the accident that killed Vivi and nearly crippled Benji.

Anything else you need?

Hell, we're working with pirates. For all we know we could die tomorrow. There isn't time for sweet seductions and frivolous flirting, as much as I wish there were. And you know, you did ask for honesty.

Think, i"m good.

Didn't say I was asking for any of that honey, just a warning. But it sounds like you are asking for that. I did, and as you might be gathering I say some pretty stupid shit sometimes.

So I gathered. The offer's open, you know. If you change your mind.

That's because I don't follow rules.

You're an idealist, it's why I like you, but you can't deny that in the end, you're still part of their system.

We're all part of the system, Chrissie, face it. At least I can take their money and keep the people safe this way.

Aww, way-da-go, Chris, now you've gone and made him depressed. :( Thanks a lot.

Desperate? That must be that Southern charm that I've heard so much about.

I'm not. It's admirable, just not as much as piracy is.

Left the charm back in Georgia darlin', along with everything else I had. You're gonna have to settle for ill tempered doctor instead of charming gentleman.

Yes you are. You might think you're fighting it but you're just as much a part as anyone. Piracy isn't admirable, Chris, just your brand. And like I said. You're the exception, not the rule.

Pirate!Pike seems to think that anyone not actively fighting against or stealing from the fleet should feel bad so he says :P

Normal!Pike says sorry.

That's okay. I like my men bad. You should have met my the last guy I dated. Real asshole. At least you seem like you'd know what do with a woman. That's more than what he could figure out.

Tony says he's stealing from them too, just in different ways (they'd rather not actually have to pay civilians for doing their job for them). Also, don't mind Tony. He's already upset over missing Benji's first steps so pretty much anything negative is going to depress him right now, until he can see him again and that's not going to be for months.

Normal!Tony says s'okay.

The things I do help normal people and show everyone else the incompetency of the fleet. I am fighting them and even if the others are doing it wrong at least they're doing something. Fleet's not gonna be around forever and every act against it brings that day closer. It's not gonna be in my lifetime but it is going to happen, mark my words. Someday the people are going to fix this.

And until that day comes pirates are just one more way the 'fleet keeps everyone in line. Because at the end of the day, they're the ones who report what happened and I can guarantee they aren't telling people that "George Lowther" makes sure civilians don't get killed in his exploits.

And you think bounty hunters don't embarrass them? The 'fleet's paying me out of their pocket to do their job for them and they can't even give me orders because that's how other hunters decided to be pirates instead.

Ah, you're one of those. Thought you looked too normal for this place, had to be hiding something. Oh, I know my share of how to handle a woman.

But there's movement. You can't stop the signal and word is slowly spreading, there are ways of getting the word out that the fleet can't control. It's slow but it's happening and that's enough for me right now.

Not saying you don't on occasion but it's a different ballgame.

But for the moment, you're the part of the system, just as much as I am.

On occasion? How about every time they have to hand over their credits?

I do. What, you want to hear all about how I could hold you down and taste that little cunt of yours until you beg my fuck you. Then maybe leave a few marks on your neck and see if it makes you squirm. Rough you up a bit if that's your thing. And of course I would fuck you eventually, hard and thorough like you need...

Yeah, not sure I'm in the mood to tell it all.
